Service & Mission

Looking for a place where your talents and gifts can be used in ways that bring you fulfillment while helping others? Have an idea that you have been thinking about for a while that would use your gifts and benefit others in our local community or the world? Central to our call to mission is the call to serve those in need. Emmaus Road is concerned about our brothers and sisters who are struggling in our local area and throughout the world. Our hope is to grow into a community that offers support and concrete assistance to people in need.

Local Assistance:

Homeless Ministry - This team gathers generally on a Sunday afternoon to make sandwiches for the homeless in our area.  A few of the members then deliver the food to the homeless.

Code Blue - Emmaus Road is an active participant in the Code Blue ministry to the homeless in our area.  Our building is one of the sites for the homeless when a "Code Blue" is called by Bucks County.

Aid for Friends – We have an active Aid for Friends ministry. Our members prepare meals, both in their homes and at group gatherings, to support this important work. Several volunteers also deliver the meals to seniors in our local area.

Giving Tree -- Through this special Christmas project, our members spread holiday cheer by providing gifts to needy families through the E.R.A. (Emergency Relief Association), a local non-profit organization that helps families in our local area.

Knitting Ministry – This group provides handmade prayer shawls, baptismal blankets and welcoming blankets to individuals in need of some warmth and comfort. The ministry meets several times during the year, on the 3rd Saturday of the month, at 10:00 am.

Vacation Bible School – Each year, a different theme provides a fun-filled learning experience for children ages 3 – 6th grade. This program runs for one week in late June.

International Assistance:

Hope for Children - We help to provide food for starving children by collecting coins.

Fair Trade Coffee - We serve (and sell) Fair Trade Coffee to help provide a decent living to the farmers who grow the coffee.
